J&H Lanmark has closed its outdoor clothing and equipment store at 342 Romany Road because of sluggish sales, owner George Lathram II said Monday.
The store's employees and merchandise were moved to the J&H store at 189 Moore Drive, which is open and "thriving," Lathram said. The lease was expiring on the Romany store, which he opened in 2007. "Sales were solid, but not substantial enough to make a new three-year commitment," given the state of the economy, he said.
Sales at the company's Moore Drive store have been strong, thanks to "a good, long, cold winter," Lathram added. "It was just what the doctor ordered."
