The Kentucky Horse Council has changed its policy and is now accepting applications only through July 31 from non-profit groups seeking money for equine education programs.
The grants are worth up to $10,000. Funding decisions will be made in September, the council said.
Previously, applications were accepted year-round and funded on a first-come, first-serve basis. The new process will treat applicants more equally, the council said. For more information, see www.kentuckyhorse.org.
