April is Financial Literacy Month, and a number of organizations are holding free events.
Among them are:
■ The Consumer Credit Counseling Service will be offering one-on-one sessions with a financial counselor who will complete a full financial evaluation. Call 1-800-355-2227 for more information.
■ The Kentucky Council on Economic Education is sponsoring a Financial Literacy Poetry Contest for students of all grade levels. Four $50 savings bonds will be awarded. Entries are due May 8. For information, visit www.econ.org.

■ Commonwealth Credit Union will host three financial seminars. The first, at noon April 14, will discuss financial fitness. The second, at 5 p.m. April 21, is on home financing. The third will discuss investing and is at noon and 7 p.m. April 22.
