Midway College: Ellen Gregory has joined the staff in the newly created position of vice president of marketing and communications. Gregory has 15 years experience in strategic marketing and public relations, the last dozen at Preston-Osborne in Lexington. Laura Barthel has been named to the college's business administration faculty. She was previously the internal auditor for Tempur-Pedic. Dr. Marty Bilderback has been named the college's Equine Division chair. He is a veterinarian, former faculty member and former head of the agriculture department of Hiwassee College, a junior college in Madisonville, Tenn. Corinne Farneti has been named coordinator of the sports management program. She previously held a teaching and academic counseling position at the University of Kentucky. She holds a Ph.D. in sport and exercise management from Ohio State University. Mark Phillips has been named to the business faculty (economics). He previously taught as Keystone College in Pennsylvania, Morehead State University and was a visiting professor at Georgetown College. Phillips holds a Ph.D. in resource economics from Michigan State University. Edna Barber has joined the college's nursing faculty. She has 35 years of working experience and is an alumna of Midway College. Most recently she worked for RN Inc. and the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Lexington.

Waynesburg (Pa.) University: John R. Bagby, a retired attorney, has been elected to the university's board of trustees. Bagby is also a trust advisor to the Headley-Whitney Museum Trust in Lexington, where he resides.


Mason & Hanger: Michael Rakes has joined the Lexington-based architectural, engineering and construction firm as a mechanical engineer. Mark Mates has joined the company as a BIM manager. Jason White has joined the company as a structural engineer.


Stoll Keenon Ogden: James G. LeMaster will join the firm as Of Counsel on Oct. 1. He will practice in the firm's Lexington office and will concentrate primarily in the area of government relations. He comes to the firm after serving as president and CEO of the Kentucky Association of Manufacturers since July 2007.


National Conference of Appellate Court Clerks: Susan Stokley Clary, clerk of the Supreme Court of Kentucky, has been installed as the 37th president of the NCACC. Clary has served as clerk of the Supreme Court of Kentucky since 1995. She also serves as the court's administrator and general counsel.

Prevent Child Abuse Kentucky: Dwayne F. Depp has joined the staff of the statewide prevention agency as assistant director.


Slade & Collins Insurance Agency: Dean Hardin has earned his property and casualty insurance license and has been promoted to a licensed agent in the agency's property and casualty sales division.
