A colt by Whywhywhy sold for $50,000 Sunday at Keeneland's September Yearling Sale, the highest price of the day.
With one day remaining in the sale, 2,984 yearlings have grossed nearly $191 million, which is down 41 percent from last year, Keeneland said in a statement.
This year's average price of $63,966 is a 36 percent decrease from 2008, Keeneland said.
The sale ends Monday.
