Simpson Optical: Dr. Ashley Lane, an optometrist, has joined the Lexington practice.


Health Insurance Advisory Council: Carl Felix, chief operating officer for Bluegrass Family Health, has been appointed by Governor Steve Beshear to serve on the council.

National Association of Women in Construction, Bluegrass Chapter: The following have been named to the board for 2009-10: Elaine Boyd, Clay Ingels, president; Kim Hellmueller, GCCS, past president; Stacia Chenoweth, Mason Structure, vice president; Grace Northcutt, recording secretary; Cindy Hiens, Messer Construction, treasurer; Mary Gail Engle, Wilson-Engle Construction, corresponding secretary; Susan Cox, Messer Construction, director; Faye Miller, BB&T Insurance, director; Joan E. Markwell, Joan E. Ventures, director.


American Water: Doug Brock has joined the company as director of customer relations for the company's new Eastern Division Field Resource Coordination Center located in Lexington. Christina Marciani has joined the company as manager of billing and collections at the FRCC. Stacy Owens has been named manager of customer advocacy. Christopher Long has been named a supervisor at FRCC.

The Center for Rural Development: Grayson Smith, Salyersville, and Sara Beth Gregory, Monticello, have been appointed to serve three-year terms on the center's board of directors.

Rhino Energy: David G. Zatezalo has been promoted to president and CEO. He has been employed by Rhino for the last six years, most recently as chief operating officer. Christopher N. Moravec has been promoted to president of Eastern Kentucky-based CAM Mining and Deane Mining, two Rhino Energy operating subsidiaries. He will continue as senior vice president of Rhino Energy's business development and sales opportunities.
