Wall Street Journal honors Lexington tech company

Lexington-based Mersive Technologies has been named runner-up in the software category of the 2009 Wall Street Journal Technology Innovation Awards.

The award program focuses on ground-breaking innovations that will have a wide impact.

Mersive, which was founded in 2004, combines low-cost projectors to create high-resolution displays that are cost-effective and easy to set up and maintain. The company's proprietary software enables alignment and blending of images from the various projectors to create a seamless, high-definition display as large as needed.

The awards program received 500 applications from 20 countries, according to a news release from Mersive.
