Public can comment on racing safety

The independent monitor of the National Thoroughbred Racing Association's Safety and Integrity Alliance is soliciting public comment.

Tommy Thompson will review the comments as he prepares a public report on the Alliance's progress implementing reforms in the wake of prominent racing public image problems, including the deaths of Eight Belles and Barbaro.

Comments can be sent to Deadline for comments is Dec. 1. The NTRA said the report is expected to be issued before the end of the year.
