The state announced Wednesday that the Kentucky Housing Corp. will be offering the lowest interest rates in its history, courtesy of a federal program.
Rates for its government loans for the Federal Housing Administration, Veterans Administration and Rural Housing Service, are currently at 4.375 percent. Applicants with a credit score of 700 or better who aren't using KHC's down payment assistance can receive rate of 4.125 percent, the state said in a news release.
The federal plan, the Homeowner Affordability and Stability Plan, helps lower the borrowing costs of housing finance agencies, which can then pass on the savings.
