The state Department for Energy Development and Independence is seeking proposals from electric energy distributors for ways to deploy and demonstrate new electricity distribution technologies.
Among the projects of interest are those that increase electric transmission and distribution reliability, as well as enable consumers to monitor and control their energy consumption, according to a news release.
The department will award $2.65 million in grant funding being provided by the federal stimulus act.
Proposals will be accepted through Feb. 22. Projects must have a minimum investment of $100,000. The department anticipates making up to six awards.
