Auction of Pimlico delayed again

The bankruptcy auction of Magna's Maryland racetracks, Pimlico and Laurel Park, has been delayed again until Feb. 10, just three months before the Preakness, the second jewel of Thoroughbred racing's Triple Crown.

The six bids for the tracks were scheduled to be opened Thursday. Known bidders include former Pimlico owner Joe De Francis, Baltimore developer David Cordish, and Penn National Gaming. Magna originally requested a delay to put the finishing touches on a "stalking" bid.
