The Lexington-Bluegrass Association of Realtors announced Thursday that two key studies show Lexington's real estate market is outpacing the nation's.
Lexington was cited as the 23rd healthiest builder market in the country, according to data compiled by Hanley Wood Market Intelligence. That ranking takes into account community measures like employment, income, home values and population.
The local market report recently issued by the National Association of Realtors for the fourth quarter also noted that the Lexington area is seeing more existing home sales and construction growth than the nation as a whole, according to an LBAR news release. The report also stated that Lexington home prices appreciated 1.8 percent in the fourth quarter, while the nation as a whole saw a 4 percent decline.
