Affiliated Computer Services Inc., one of Kentucky's largest private employers, plans to hire 320 employees in Lexington and Pikeville.
The new positions are customer-care agents, who will take inbound calls from customers, and supervisors. ACS spokesman Chris Gilligan said the jobs will support two existing customers that are expanding their business with ACS. He declined to name them.
Of the 320 jobs, 270 are in Lexington. Those include 80 full-time positions and 190 temporary jobs. Gilligan said the company expects those jobs to last through mid-August, though "we are working with our client to see if we can make as many of them as possible full-time permanent."
The remaining 50 jobs are in Pikeville.
To apply, fill out an online application at www.acs-inc.com or apply at 101 Yorkshire Boulevard in Lexington or 55 ACS Boulevard in the Mossy Bottom Business Park in Pikeville. Those interested in applying can also call (859) 389-2280 in Lexington and (606) 218-2513 in Pikeville during regular business hours.
Training classes for the positions start in early April, Gilligan said.
ACS, which recently was acquired by Xerox, provides information technology and outsourcing services to private businesses and government agencies.
It's Kentucky's sixth-largest private employer, with about 4,000 employees statewide, including 2,000 in Lexington.
Kentucky is the second-largest base of ACS employees worldwide, the company said. The only larger contingent is in Texas, where the company is headquartered.
