Kentucky Ale to be promoted at new Louisville arena

Alltech, which brews Kentucky Ale beer, has signed a deal to become a sponsor of the new arena in downtown Louisville. The Nicholasville company, which is sponsoring the upcoming FEI World Equestrian Games, paid an undisclosed amount for the right to have the sports bar in the arena's main concourse named the Kentucky Ale Tap Room for 10 years.

"We envision the wonderful new Kentucky Ale Tap Room inside the arena to be the rendezvous point where adults can socialize and enjoy a cold delicious beer crafted right here in the Commonwealth," said Pearse Lyons, president and founder of Alltech's Lexington Brewing & Distilling Company.

The announcement comes on the heels of news that the arena will be named the KFC Yum Center as part of a 10-year, $13.5 million deal with Yum Brands. The $238 million, 22,000-seat arena will be the new home of the University of Louisville men's and women's basketball teams when it officially opens in the fall.
