The state has nearly $1.7 million in rebates still available for energy-efficient appliances.
First lady Jane Beshear announced Thursday at GE Appliance Park in Louisville that almost half of the rebates previously reserved have gone unclaimed, so the federal stimulus money is up for grabs on a first-come, first-served basis.
To apply for a rebate, go to www.kyappliancerebates.com or call 1-877-813-3669.
Appliances must be Energy Star-qualified and must be purchased from a Kentucky retailer. Various rebates are available on 16 appliances, including clothes washers, dishwashers, refrigerators, freezers, room air conditioners, water heaters, central air conditioners, air source heat pumps, geothermal heat pumps, gas furnaces and gas boilers.
