Windstream, Lexington's local telephone provider, announced Monday that it has completed its sale of $400 million in bonds. The 8.125 percent notes will come due in 2018. The proceeds will be used to repay $300 million of outstanding debt from Windstream's revolving credit facility and for general corporate purposes, according to a company statement.
In 2009, Windstream issued $1.1 billion in bonds due in 2017 to help finance acquisitions of D&E Communications, Lexcom and NuVox.
