Akebono Brake Corporation has sold a building in Springfield to manufacturing firm INOAC USA for $2.5 million.
The building, which is nearly 150,000 square feet, is part of property that Akebono Brake has freed up as part of a consolidation of its work in Glasgow, according to a statement from property broker Binswanger.
INOAC USA recently received tax incentives of $1.5 million for its expansion in Springfield. According to state records, the company's expansion includes manufacturing of instrument panels for the 2012 Toyota Camry.
The company plans to add 82 jobs that pay $20 an hour, including benefits. The company estimated to the state that the project will cost $8.51 million.
