Residents of Madison, Mason and Rowan counties might be eligible for unemployment pay if they lost work or worked for businesses that were damaged during severe weather in those counties between July 17 and July 30. They join Carter, Lewis and Pike counties, which were previously designated for such assistance.
Farmers and self-employed people, who normally are not eligible for unemployment, also might qualify for this disaster unemployment assistance. The deadline for applications, which can be filed at local Office of Employment and Training offices, is Sept. 16. For more information, go to KYEM.ky.gov/currentdisasters.
