The organizers of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail announced last week that the number of visitors touring all six distilleries on the trail has already surpassed the record attendance in 2009.
Through August, more than 4,000 visitors have turned in their "passport" that shows they've visited all six sites, said Eric Gregory, president of the Kentucky Distillers' Association.
The six distilleries featured on the trail are Four Roses and Wild Turkey in Lawrenceburg, Heaven Hill in Bardstown, Jim Beam in Clermont, Maker's Mark in Loretto and Woodford Reserve in Versailles.
