J.P. Miller Jr. has succeeded his father, John Paul Miller, as president and general manager of Lexington's Paul Miller Autogroup, the company announced Friday.

J.P. Miller Jr. joined the company in 2005 and has served as vice president and general manager of the auto dealership and affiliated businesses, including body shops, since 2006.

His father intends to stay active with the company but will focus the majority of his time now on his Fortune Realty business, spokeswoman Kathryn Rasnick said.

The company was founded in 1953 by J.P. Miller Jr.'s grandfather, Paul. E. Miller, who is retired by remains involved with the company, Rasnick said.
