■ Kentucky Employers' Mutual Insurance and Associated Builders and Contractors of Kentuckiana have launched a workers' compensation program. The goal of the program is to make workers' comp benefits affordable for ABC's members and to provide the support necessary to maintain a safe work environment. According to Roger Fries, KEMI president and CEO, the company chose to partner with ABC because it demonstrated a commitment to workplace safety by developing a STEP (Safety Training Evaluation Process) Program. Implementing the STEP Program can lead to a partnership between a company and KY OSH, and will help reduce a company's incident rate, which can lower annual workers' comp insurance premiums.
