Morning Pointe Senior Care plans to build a facility with 73 apartments, including 20 designed for seniors with Alzheimer's, in Lexington.
The $9 million senior care facility will be the organization's fifth in Kentucky, where it also operates in Richmond, near Ashland and two locations in Frankfort.
"We are so pleased to build upon our 10-year history within Kentucky by offering the most advanced senior care communities with the latest in design for seniors and their care," said Suzanne Foster, senior vice president of operations, in a statement.
The Lexington facility will be built on 5 acres at 233 Ruccio Way near the Meijer off West Reynolds Road.
Morning Pointe estimates it will hire 50 full-time staffers once the location is built.
The announcement comes in addition to the company's near completion of 34 apartments in Frankfort for people with Alzheimer's or other memory-related illnesses. The company is hiring 30 to 50 new employees for that site. To apply, visit Morningpointe.com/career.
