Humane society wins Toyota contest for new van

Toyota will donate a new Sienna minivan to the Anderson Humane Society in Lawrenceburg as part of its 100 Cars for Good program. The automaker's program, which started May 9, awards 100 vehicles to 100 American non-profits over 100 days.

The Anderson Humane Society, which shelters abandoned or neglected animals and seeks adoptive families for them, was one of 500 finalists selected in the contest. The winners were picked through a public vote on Facebook.

The group plans to use the van to pick up donated supplies, veterinarian visits and adoption events, according to a news release. Voting for the program continues through Aug. 16 with five non-profits competing each day. To learn more, visit Carsforgood.com.
