Kentucky ranked third among the 50 states for percentage growth in personal income in 2010 compared to 2009, according to the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis. The state's personal income grew 4 percent from 2009 to 2010. Personal income is the income received by all state residents from all sources.
The highest growth came in New Mexico, which saw personal income rise 4.2 percent. The lowest growth was 0.3 percent in Nevada.
Nationwide, state personal income rose 3 percent on average in 2010 after falling 1.7 percent in 2009.
