Kentucky by the numbers: $144.6 billion

Kentucky's real gross domestic product — a measure of the total value of goods and services produced — rose to $144.6 billion, from $140.1 billion, in 2009, according to recently released data by the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis.

That reversed a decrease from $142.8 billion in 2008. The measure is based on what a dollar was worth in 2005 to remain consistent.
