This fall at Keeneland you will be able to bet while watching the horses in the paddock or standing in line for bourbon bread pudding.

The track is rolling out its mobile betting application, FastBet, for everybody to use. Keeneland tested it with a select group at the spring meet.

Created by United Tote, the app is a first for Thoroughbred horse racing in the United States.

It was well received by customers who tried it at Keene-land's spring meet, said Brad Lovell, Keeneland vice president and chief information officer. "Those who tested it gave us great feedback, and United Tote did a good job of integrating upgrades into this generation of the technology."

How do you get it?

Would-be bettors must sign up in person at the track at any information window or at the new Wagering Central location on the ground floor of the grandstand.

From there, they may download an application to mobile devices such as smartphones or tablets such as iPads.

The app lets fans who are on Keeneland grounds bet on live and simulcast races via an account set up with Keene land's advance deposit wagering outlet, Keeneland Select.

To do that, customers must put money into the account before placing bets; they can't bet directly on credit.

Keeneland's 75th anniversary season begins Friday with the first post at 1:15 p.m. each race day.

Also, the track once again will offer a 50-cent Pick Five, where bettors pick winners of five consecutive races, with a minimum bet of 50 cents.

If you can't get to the track, you can play the track's Facebook game, Playkeeneland, a real-time handicapping game with play money.
