A Sikorsky S-58 helicopter operated by Construction Helicopters Inc. took pieces of the sign from the CentrePointe lot to the top of the Lexington Financial Center.

A helicopter lifted off Sunday morning from the CentrePointe lot and succeeded this time in hoisting into place framework for new Fifth Third Bank signs atop Lexington's tallest building.

Construction Helicopters Inc. lifted the two signs to the top of the Lexington Financial Center, otherwise known as the Big Blue building between Main and Vine streets at Mill Street.

High winds had delayed the switch to the new bank logo on Nov. 19. Streets downtown were blocked off for part of the morning Sunday while the helicopter buzzed overhead.

Although some work on the signs remains to be done, the airlift apparently has been completed, Fifth Third Bank spokesman Brant Welch said.
