Windstream Internet customers nationwide lost Web and email access Tuesday morning.
Company spokesman Scott Morris said the outage began about 4:30 a.m. By 9:30 a.m., Internet access and some email was again accessible, and all email was available by 10:30 a.m.
Morris said the problem began because Windstream's Domain Name System servers, which translates Web site names into required Internet protocol addresses, became inaccessible.
