Lexington-based Kentucky National Insurance has named a new president. David McMullen succeeds Enoch Roberts, who is retiring but will continue to work with the property and casualty insurance company as a consultant.
McMullen, 40, has more than 15 years of insurance industry experience, most recently as the director of insurance for AAA Allied Group, according to a news release from KNI. In that position, he held responsibility for a seven-state sales operation that experienced significant growth and profitability under his leadership. His experience within the insurance industry includes marketing, sales management, claims, agency owner and executive management.
McMullen is a graduate of Northern Kentucky University and volunteers as a youth basketball and soccer coach and has been vice president of the Lawrenceburg Community School Corp. board of trustees.
KNI is the only property and casualty insurance company in the state owned by Kentucky stockholders that is sold exclusively through independent insurance agents, according to the company.
