Covington-based Ashland announced Wednesday that it has reached a deal with Russia's third-largest oil company to distribute Valvoline motor oil in the country.
The deal with TNK-BP, which has access to 15,000 retail stores in Russia, is for five years, according to an Ashland news release.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
"Russia represents a significant growth opportunity for passenger car motor oils, particularly with the increasing popularity of Western cars," said Sam Mitchell, president of Ashland Consumer Markets in a statement.
