The fourth annual Celebration of disAbility Expo and Employer Seminar will be held Thursday at the Lexington Center downtown. The event, organized by the Mayor's Commission for Citizens with Disabilities, will include a seminar for employers about ways they can use disabled people in their work forces.
"People with disabilities represent a largely untapped resource in the work force, and we want to show employers how they can be assets to their businesses," said Kristy Stambaugh, Lexington's administrator for aging services and disability support, in a news release. "They represent so much ability that should not be ignored."
That seminar will be held from 8 to 10:30 a.m., and the expo will begin afterwards and run until 4 p.m. All events are free. To learn more, call Stambaugh at (859) 258-3806 or email her at email@example.com.
