Telephone operator Windstream has eliminated five management positions in Lexington as part of a recently completed restructuring.
Looking to reduce expenses, the company announced the move during the second quarter and eliminated about 350 positions overall, roughly 3 percent of its work force.
"Windstream has grown rapidly through acquisition, and it is crucial that our management structure be as simple and as responsive to customers as possible as we continue to build this company for long-term success," chief executive officer Jeff Gardner said in a past statement announcing the cuts.
The restructuring is expected to save $30 million to $40 million annually.
