Old Pogue Distillery, one of Kentucky's oldest bourbon names, has joined the Kentucky Distillers' Association. The H.E. Pogue Distillery was founded in 1876 in Mason County, which was originally known as Limestone Landing when the territory was part of Bourbon County, Va.
Only the foundation of the original distillery remains, but a new small-batch craft distillery has been re-created there and is part of the historic Ryan-Pogue family home on West Second Street in Maysville.
Production of Old Pogue Master's Select bourbon and Limestone Landing rye whisky began in March. For more information, go to Oldpogue.com.
"We're excited that Bourbon production has returned to Maysville," said Eric Gregory, KDA president.
