Kroger is reducing hours at two of its Lexington stores. Instead of being open 24 hours, the grocery chain's stores at Brannon Crossing and Gardenside along Alexandria Drive are now open from 6 a.m. to midnight, said spokesman Tim McGurk.
"The primary reason was that these two stores simply do not have as many customers choosing to shop during the overnight hours," McGurk said. "Also, as we continue to seek ways to operate our stores in more energy-efficient ways, shortening the operating hours for these two stores allows us to turn off many of the lights overnight resulting in significant energy conservation."
