The state attorney general's office announced Wednesday that postcards have been mailed to Kentuckians who lost their homes to foreclosure from Jan. 1, 2008, to Dec. 31, 2011, and are eligible to apply for the national mortgage settlement.
The notices were mailed Monday to the last known addresses available for nearly 5,400 Kentucky homeowners who were foreclosed upon and are now eligible for payments totaling $10.7 million, according to a statement. Depending on the total number of eligible participants in the settlement, each household may receive up to $2,000.
If you think you are eligible and do not receive a notice, call 1-866-430-8358. The deadline to file a claim is Jan. 18. To learn more, go to Ag.ky.gov/mortgagesettlement.
