Work-from-home job fairs to be held in Eastern Kentucky in early October

A state program to help people find work-from-home jobs will hold three job fairs in Eastern Kentucky in early October, according to a news release.

Kentucky Teleworks has agreements with six companies that want to fill nearly 3,000 jobs by the end of the year, according to the news release from the program.

The dates and locations of the free screening events are:

■ Oct. 2: Daniel Boone Community Action Agency, 1535 Shamrock Road in Manchester.

■ Oct. 3: Owsley County Public Library, 701 New Highway 11 in Booneville.

■ Oct. 4: L.K.L.P. Community Action Council, 412 Roy Campbell Drive in Hazard.

The events are scheduled to last from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.

People who want to be screened for jobs should bring a resume, a valid identification card and a Social Security card.

Applicants also will need high-speed Internet access at their homes, though some people in the Hazard area will be able to work at the Kentucky Teleworks incubator at the Perry County JobSight.

The jobs include customer service, sales and information-technology support positions, some with pay starting at $8 and $9 an hour.
