An Overview of Dodd-Frank — Considerations for Internal Auditors will be held from 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. at Lexmark International, 740 West New Circle Road. The Fayette County Cooperative Extension Service and the UK Alumni Association have formed a Job Club for motivated job seekers to meet, connect, share and learn. The free group is open to the public and will meet the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at the extension office, 1140 Red Mile Place. Socially Responsible Investing, presented by Kenneth Garrett of Garrett Financial Management, will be noon-1 p.m. Jan. 22 at the Plantory, 560 East Third Street. The event is co-sponsored by the Lexington Young Professionals Association and the Lexington Charity Club. The event is free.
The University of Kentucky's Martin School of Public Policy and Administration is bringing David M. Walker, who served as comptroller general of the United States and head of the Government Accountability Office from 1998 to 2008, to campus to discuss the financial challenges facing America and the rest of the world. Walker will address students, faculty, and the general public at 7 p.m. Jan. 23 in the Recital Hall of the Singletary Center for the Arts. Admission is free for the event, which will include an opportunity for audience participation.
The 2013 Healthcare Symposium, presented by the Central Kentucky Association of Health Underwriters, will be Feb. 19 at the Lexington Convention Center.
This year, expert practitioners and industry leaders will present detailed information and recommendations for brokers and businesses looking to understand the future of the health care industry. Subject areas include Kentucky's health care exchange, Kentucky's health care cooperative, private exchanges, nondiscrimination requirements and ERISA compliance.
