Business awards: Week of April 8

■ The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy have recognized Kentucky organizations dedicated to energy efficiency with their 2013 Energy Star Awards

Louisville Gas & Electric and Kentucky Utilities were honored for their continued support promoting the Energy Star Certified Homes program.

Also honored was Toyota's North American manufacturing headquarters in Erlanger in Northern Kentucky for promoting energy management.

Scott County Schools was recognized, too, for demonstrating success in improving energy efficiency.

■ Employment Solutions recently recognized Marriott Griffin Gate Resort and Spa as Employer of the Year at its annual Community Partnership Luncheon. The company was honored for its commitment to hiring individuals with disabilities.

Stacy Crase of Kentucky River Foothills Development Council recently received the Emerging Leader Award from the Geiger Gibson Program in Community Health Policy at George Washington University's School of Public Health and Health Services.

Crase was chosen for her work as a coordinator and nutritionist with the Patient Centered Medical Home Project that's part of Kentucky River Foothills' Healthcare for the Homeless program.

Established in 2007, the Emerging Leader Award highlights and shares the accomplishments of exceptional young members of health centers and primary care associations.
