■ Local businesswomen were honored April 11 by the Lexington Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners during its annual Winners' Circle luncheon.

Patsy Todd was named this year's Winners' Circle Award recipient, the chapter's highest honor.

Women business owners also were honored in several categories.

Woman Business Owner of the Year: Dr. Alice Mills, DVM, owner of The Lexington Hospital for Cats.

Public Policy Catalyst: Janey Moores, owner of BJM & Associates.

NAWBO Member of the Year: Cathy Stafford, president of Ad-Ventures Promotions.

Corporate Partner of the Year: FOX 56.

Hall of Fame Award: Becky Naugle, Kentucky Small Business Development Center, for support and assistance provided to NAWBO. This award has only been presented twice in the chapter's history.

Baptist Health Lexington has received the Get With The Guidelines—Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award from the American Heart Association. This marks the fifth year that Baptist Health Lexington has been recognized with a quality achievement award.

The Home Builders Association of Lexington has received recognition from the Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET) and Insulate America for helping to promote the building of energy-efficient homes in Lexington.

The association was the first in the nation to sign a memorandum of understanding with RESNET, agreeing to encourage builders to rate the energy efficiency of a home using the Home Energy Rating System (HERS) Index. The HERS Index rates the energy performance of a home in much the same way a miles-per-gallon sticker does for automobiles.

Mann Sutton and McGee of Lexington, has been named by Auto-Owners Insurance as one of the top 10 growth agencies for the company in the state of Kentucky for 2012. Mann Sutton and McGee has represented Auto-Owners since 1997.
