Lexington IT company buys St. Louis firm

Lexington-based information technology company NetGain Technologies has bought NCDTech of St. Louis., the company announced this week.

NCDTech, founded in 1997, is a large provider of direct IT services and business technology consulting, NetGain said in a news release.

"We are a family-owned and -operated business," NetGain marketing content coordinator Emily Cedargren said.

NetGain was founded in 1984 by Don Jacobson. In 1995, Jacobson's sons Mark and Jim bought the company. Mark Jacobson is now the company's CEO.

NetGain has more than 130 employees in Lexington; Louisville; Cincinnati; Little Rock, Ark.; and Chattanooga.

The purchase of NCDTech represents NetGain's fourth expansion in three years, according to the company. The company bought Lexington-based IntraSource in 2012.
