God's Pantry Food Bank has bought a new warehouse building on 1215 E. 4th Street in London.
The 10,000 square-foot facility will house food and supplies needed for the southern region of the food banking operation allowing greater access to food for the Food Bank's network of member agencies in the region. Financial support from Community Development Block Grant and private donations made the purchase possible, according to a press release from the food bank.
More than 50 programs such as senior centers, shelters, soup kitchens and more will rely on this distribution center for food, the release stated.
Now that GPFB owns the property, it is working to make the building food safe. Renovations are likely to be finished by the end of summer.
