Georgetown: A Georgetown native who currently serves as an automotive industry lobbyist in Washington will soon lead the Kentucky Distillers’ Association’s governmental and regulatory efforts.

Kristin Meadors, 28, will be KDA’s first-ever director of governmental and regulatory affairs in the trade group’s 133-year history, association President Eric Gregory said.

She had served as the association’s executive assistant from 2008 to 2011 before leaving to join the Association of Global Automakers, where she helped lead that group’s advocacy efforts with a strategic focus on free-trade and customs issues.

At the KDA, Meadors will coordinate the association’s governmental and regulatory affairs initiatives at all levels of government, working with federal officials on trade issues and expanding global opportunities for Kentucky’s signature Bourbon industry, Gregory said.
