Education

Eastern Kentucky University: E. Michael Eastman has been named vice president for development and alumni relations. Eastman, vice president for university advancement at Indiana's Manchester University since 2005, will join Eastern's staff Aug. 1.

Western Kentucky University: The university's Board of Regents has elected attorney David Porter of Stites & Harbison's Lexington office as chair for 2013-14. Porter is chair of the firm's Trust and Estate Planning Service Group and is an adjunct member of the Business & Finance Service Group.

Law

Stites & Harbison: Elizabeth "Betsy" Johnson has been named chair of the firm's Health Care Service Group. Johnson is a member/partner based in the firm's Lexington office. She concentrates her practice in health care law and regulatory issues.

Organizations

Kentucky Distillers' Association: Kristin Meadors has joined the 133-year-old trade group as its first-ever director of governmental and regulatory affairs. Meadors, Georgetown native, returns to the KDA from the Association of Global Automakers in Washington, D.C.

Hospice of the Bluegrass: DenEllen Coldiron has been named site director for the clinical office that serves patients in Lexington and Jessamine counties. As site director, Coldiron and her staff will serve more than 200 hospice patients and their families daily.

Kentucky Bar Association: The following have been elected KBA officers and board members through June 30, 2014; bar governors elected from the Supreme Court Districts will serve a two-year term ending June 30, 2015: Thomas L. The Kroger Co.: Calvin Kaufman has been named president of the company's newly created Louisville division, which will include 15,000 associates working in 98 Kroger stores in Kentucky, southern Indiana and southern Illinois.
