Events/Seminars

The 2013 Kentucky Association for Environmental Education Conference. Sept. 12-15, Lake Barkley State Park, Cadiz. Highlights of this year's family-friendly conference include sessions and workshops on solar energy, archeology, quilting and raptor education. A number of off-site sessions around Lake Barkley and the Land Between The Lakes, include canoe trips, hikes, an archeological tour and a chance to spin fiber at the Homeplace in LBL. There will also be horseback riding, archery and trapshooting available at the park for participants and family members.

IRS Workshop: Stay Exempt. 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Aug. 13. Campbell County Cooperative Extension Service, 3500 Alexandria Pike, Highland Heights. Led by experienced IRS Exempt Organizations specialists, the workshops are designed for staff or volunteers of small or medium-sized tax-exempt organizations who are responsible for tax compliance or professionals seeking a refresher. Topics include Form 990 series filing requirements, unrelated business income, charitable gaming, employment issues and record keeping tips. CPE, CLE credits available.
