Lexington concrete company Congleton acquired by Indiana firm

Lexington ready-mix concrete company W.T. Congleton has been acquired by IMI South LLC, a subsidiary of Irving Materials Inc. of Greenfield, Ind., according to a news release from The Pulliam Co.

W.T. Congleton Co. was founded in Lexington in 1915 and has always been owned and operated by members of the Congleton family. Originally a building-supply firm, the company now deals exclusively in ready-mixed concrete products.

Employee-owned Irving Materials provides ready-mixed concrete throughout the South and Midwest, with regional operation centers in Louisville; Evansville, Ind.; and Nashville.
