The Cheesecake Factory has announced an opening date in Fayette Mall of Oct. 28. On Friday, mall officials also announced three new businesses: Travinia Italian Kitchen, Janie and Jack children's clothing, and Vera Bradley, which sells women's handbags and accessories.
The Cheesecake Factory is to be 8,000 square feet and have 205 seats. The hugely popular restaurant chain, which has a store in Louisville, had been the subject of intense Lexington-area consumer demand when it announced in March that it would open a store in the former Sears space in Fayette Mall.
The restaurant chain was ranked as North Americans' favorite general-menu casual-dining chain in Market Force Information's survey on restaurants, released earlier this week.
Newly announced Travinia started in Greenville, S.C., in 2002 and has 13 restaurants in operation. The Fayette Mall restaurant will be its first in Kentucky. The menu features Italian-style food, steaks, chops and seafood, plus an extensive wine list and a gluten-free menu.

Travinia is to be 7,200 square feet and have more than 200 seats, including an outdoor patio on the front and side of the restaurant, said Sarah Enlow, a marketing specialist at Fayette Mall.
Lexington's Travinia is to open in the first quarter of 2015 across from the Cheesecake Factory.
Janie and Jack is owned by the Gymboree Corp. and sells upscale children's clothing and accessories, including silk dresses for girls and suits for boys.
The Gymboree website says that the Janie and Jack brand operates 133 stores in the United States, including one at Louisville's Oxmoor Center.
Vera Bradley, famous for its brightly patterned women's handbags, luggage and gifts, operates 89 stores in the United States, including one at the Mall St. Matthews in Louisville. Its merchandise also is available at a network of more than 3,000 independent retailers.
The Nicholasville Road mall announced in March that it will be the site of the Swedish retailer H&M and apparel retailers Clarks Shoes and Jos. A. Bank Clothiers. It also is to get a Newk's Eatery — which also is opening a restaurant on Richmond Road in front of Southland Christian Church's campus.
