Education

Eastern Kentucky University: Laurie A. Carter has been named executive vice president for student success and university counsel. After 25 years at The Juilliard School in New York City, where she held various positions, Carter was named vice president for arts education at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in April 2013.

Finance

Maggard Property Management: Andy Denton has been named general manager of the company, which specializes in the management and sales of Central Kentucky properties.

Blue & Co.: Adam Campbell and John Paul Coyle have been promoted to senior accountants in the firm's Lexington office.

Health care

Baptist Health Lexington: Dr. Stephen K. Toadvine has been named chief medical officer, effective Nov. 5. Toadvine serves as chief medical officer, vice president, for Hardin Memorial Health in Elizabethtown.

Lexington Clinic: Dr. Scott A. Merkley has joined the Lexington Clinic Ambulatory Surgery Center as a gastroenterologist.

Other

Assured Neace Lukens: Jeremy Blair has been named a property and casualty insurance producer and will be based in the firm's Lexington office.

BEX Construction: Sharon Dean has joined the company as a contract administrator.

Kentucky American Water: Justin Sensabaugh has been named operations superintendent for the utility's Northern Division, overseeing the company's water and wastewater operations in Gallatin, Grant and Owen counties.
