Business awards: Week of Oct. 20

Keeneland Association has earned its seventh International Simulcast Award. Keeneland is the only seven-time winner of the Simulcast Award, which honors excellence in the presentation of a race track's live race product to its simulcast outlets. A panel of four judges selected the winners as best among 10 North American race tracks entered for consideration. Keeneland also won the award in 2003, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2012 and 2013. The judges cited Keeneland's graphics, camera work and easy-to-read display of odds, will-pays and payouts along with multiple paddock cameras encompassing the action of the track during the paddock walk and warm-ups.

Al Saylor, a registered nurse and manager of care coordination of a substance abuse unit at Saint Joseph East Hospital, has been named a winner of the University of Louisville School of Nursing's Florence Nightingale Award.

Saylor has developed new policies and mentored new nurses with his expertise as a certified Addiction Registered Nurse. His work in the area of substance abuse also led him to serve with a 12-member delegation that visited treatment facilities in Russia and Hungry.

Saylor will receive a $1,000 cash award and commemorative plaque and will be recognized Nov. 6 at the inaugural University of Louisville School of Nursing Florence Nightingale Awards in Nursing at the Mellwood Arts Center.

■ The Distinguished Restaurants of North America welcomed Azur Restaurant & Patio as a DiRoNA award winner Oct. 8. Partners from the Lexington restaurant attended a gala dinner at the Brown Hotel in Louisville to receive the award, which recognizes the restaurant's high standard for cuisine quality and creativity along with a commitment to an outstanding guest experience.

Nearly 100 chefs and restaurateurs were in Louisville for the DiRoNA "Bourbon and Beyond" food and beverage conference.

The 2014 Kentucky Proud Incredible Food Show has named the following as 2014 Best of Show winners:

Best Sweet — Winner: The Comfy Cow (Ice Cream)

Best Sweet — Honorable Mention: The Delish Dish/Made By Mavis (Jellies/Preserves)

Best Savory — Winner: River Hill Ranch (Alpaca Meat)

Best Savory — Honorable Mention: Cooper Brothers Gourmet Meats

Best Booth Display — Winner: Two Little Texans

Best Booth Display — Honorable Mention: Spotz Gelato

People's Choice Award — Glier's Meats - Goetta

The Lexington Legends have won a Golden Bobblehead Award, which recognizes the best promotions in minor league baseball. The Legends won in the category of Best Non-Gameday Event for Red, White & Boom, a concert held annually at Whitaker Bank Ballpark in celebration of Independence Day. The 2014 event, held July 5-6, drew 30,000 people to the ballpark for two days of live music. The 2015 Red, White & Boom event is set for June 26-27.
