Airline price war continues at Cincinnati airport

Hebron: Price war continued between the two low-cost airlines at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport.

Frontier Airlines dropped nonstop, one-way fares under $80 to four vacation destinations — Las Vegas, Phoenix, Orlando and Fort Lauderdale. The deal was only good Thursday but the offer came one day after Allegiant Air announced yet another expansion and prepared to start new flights to Phoenix from CVG on Friday.

This year, Frontier and Allegiant have engaged in fierce competition at CVG, the nation’s most expensive airport. Both have started or announced flights to Las Vegas, Phoenix, Orlando and Fort Lauderdale, among other cities.

In August, Frontier announced a major expansion at CVG by adding flights to five cities, including Las Vegas and Phoenix. Within hours of the news being first reported on Cin  , Allegiant dropped one-way fares to those cities and four other destinations.
