KentuckyOne Health Partners announced Tuesday that it has added 10 skilled-nursing facilities to its KentuckyOne Health Partners network in the Lexington area.
KentuckyOne Health Partners is part of Louisville-based KentuckyOne Health, which has more than 200 properties including hospitals, physician groups, clinics, primary care centers, specialty institutes and home health agencies in Kentucky and southern Indiana.
KentuckyOne Health Partners is a network of nearly 3,000 physicians in Kentucky and in regional areas in Indiana and Ohio.
A news release from the company said skilled-nursing facilities added to the network are: Bluegrass Care & Rehab, Cardinal Hill Rehabilitation, Danville Centre for Health and Rehabilitation, Harrodsburg Health & Rehab, Mayfair Manor, Northpoint/Lexington Healthcare Center, Providence Homestead Nursing Care, Richmond Place Rehabilitation & Health Center, Signature Healthcare of Georgetown, and Tanbark Health & Rehabilitation Center.
The collaboration will allow health care providers to better plan a continuing course of treatment for patients with serious and traumatic ailments and injuries by sharing information, said David McArthur, a spokesman for KentuckyOne Health.
"Really, this connects the dots," McArthur said. "We don't own these facilities. It's a partnership."
The news release said the partnerships will improve care at a lower cost and reduce hospital readmissions.
Damian "Pat" Alagia, chief medical officer of KentuckyOne Health, said in the news release that the partnerships "are another way that we're able to provide wellness, healing and hope to all, including the underserved."
KentuckyOne Health Partners also is adding skilled nursing partnerships in the Louisville area.
